Broadcast News In a blog post on thenation.com, Eric Alterman argues that major news networks should focus on funding actual journalism, rather than paying the high salaries of anchors and other celebrity TV hosts.

I liked the post, but couldn’t help but notice that Alterman disregards something major – the journalism industry, as a whole, is suffering, not just television news. Countless newspapers who have been funding their reporters are getting shut down.

But despite the one flaw, Alterman’s argument is compelling and definitely worth a read.
